3 Bible verses for a season of transition and change

As the heat of summer fades and crisp air takes its place, fall gently reminds us that change can be beautiful. Trees burst into brilliant hues of amber and crimson, the days grow shorter, and the earth begins to quiet. In this in-between season—after the vibrance of summer but before the stillness of winter—God invites us to pause, reflect, and realign.

  1. Let go

One of fall’s most striking visuals is the falling leaf. Trees release what they no longer need, making space for rest and renewal. In the same way, God calls us to let go of what is no longer serving our hearts or drawing us closer to Him.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… a time to plant and a time to uproot” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, NIV).

What are you clinging to that God may be asking you to release? Anxiety, comparison, bitterness, fear? Letting go isn’t always easy, but just like the trees, our lives grow healthier when we surrender to the rhythms of grace.

Fall naturally invites us to slow down. As the world quiets, it becomes easier to hear God’s voice. Whether it’s a walk through crunching leaves, journaling by candlelight, or simply sipping coffee by a window, these simple moments become sacred when we use them to connect with our Creator.

“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Use this season as a spiritual reset. Revisit your quiet time. Rekindle your prayer life. Refresh your soul in the presence of God.

Fall is also the season of harvest—a time to gather the fruits of what’s been planted. Spiritually, it’s an opportunity to reflect on God’s faithfulness through the year. Maybe there were moments of hardship but also threads of hope. Maybe not everything went as planned, but you’re still standing. Still growing.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Look around. What blessings has God grown in your life this year? Take time to give thanks and celebrate—even the small victories.
