‘God Only Knows’: Watch the video for the song that won Best Contemporary Grammy
Country music star Dolly Parton and Christian band For King and Country teamed up for a song that Parton said she loved because it’s “reaching to the marginalized, the depressed, the suicidal.”
It’s the legend’s 10th Grammy award.
While Parton wasn’t at the ceremony, the band and the songwriters took to the stage to accept the award. During his speech, For King and Country singer Joel Smallbone described the collaboration as “one of the great moments of their career.”
We couldn’t be more grateful for a pair of wins tonight at the Grammy Awards, and we wanted to share this very special moment with you all as we got the news that God Only Knows had won a Grammy. This was the first of two Grammys for the band. The second Grammy was for “Burn the Ships,” an album of which the title song was based on a loved one recovering from addiction.
For these two awards, and particularly this one, as Burn The Ships was such a collaborative effort, we want to thank all of you.. to the academy, our peers, our wives, and most importantly to God, we are deeply grateful. pic.twitter.com/ICpVTRFx9P
