7 Milestones in Jelly Roll’s journey to faith
- 1998 (Age 14) —Raised in Antioch, Tennessee, Jason DeFord aka Jelly Roll is baptized at Whitsitt Chapel Baptist Church. However, according to his official Grammy interview profile, that same year he got arrested, launching a painful 10-year cycle of juvenile detention and prison.
- 2008 —While locked in a prison cell for aggravated robbery, DeFord learns of the birth of his daughter, Bailee Ann. As detailed by Premier Christianity, this life-altering news becomes his personal “Damascus Road” moment, forcing him to dedicate his life to reform and fatherhood.
