Hello, neighbor: Tom Hanks spreads kindness as Mister Rogers in ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’
Sony has released the first trailer for “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” the upcoming film about the late TV icon Fred Rogers starring Tom Hanks.
Rogers, a puppeteer, producer and Presbyterian minister, combined many of his talents as the beloved host of the preschool TV series, “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” from 1968-2001.
The film, which is loosely based on a 1998 Esquire article by Tom Junod, is scheduled for release this fall.
