Jeen-yuhs: Kanye on ‘God’s plan’ in Netflix series
Netflix is about to release a three-part docuseries on Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, that delves into his rise years before Kim-ye and all the latest controversy. The series chronicles 21 years of behind-the-scenes footage, including his earliest days as a budding artist, and leads up to his latest endeavors.
The series, directed by Coodie (Clarence Simmons Jr.) and Chike Ozah, who produced Ye’s breakthrough music videos for “Through the Wire,” and “Jesus Walks,” also addressed Ye’s faith.
“It was so good to see the times I mentioned God throughout the whole journey,” Ye said at a recent screening of the trilogy. “To lean on God when the moments seem the darkest…”
Watch as the trailer jumps across Ye’s life and ends with him talking about God’s plan and how God may have handed him the world, but could also take it away from him.
“I think he just has me here for a reason, that I have something to say.”
