New York City’s P.S. Kitchen serves up hip, vegan food with a side of generosity

You can really dine for good at P.S. Kitchen.

It’s not just because their menu is plant based and their vision is to serve their clients, employees, society, and the Earth with heart, but because this Times Square eatery donates 100 percent of their profits to charity and hires those in need of a second chance.

P.S. Kitchen was created with a higher mission in mind.

Founders Graham and April Tam Smith, who work in investment banking and venture capital, say the driving force behind how they run their business is their faith.

“I believe that everything that I have is given from God. So if it’s either from my family or if it’s from God, or if it’s from the simple chance that I got to move to the U.S. when others cannot, then it just makes sense for me to share and give it all back,” says April, who emigrated from Hong Kong when she was 11.

Graham who learned from his years at Wheaton College not to become too attached to a lavish lifestyle, told the Crazy Good Turns podcast last year: “There’s a type of anxiety that lives in New York City. … I like to think of the phrase, ‘The secret to living is giving.’ So really getting outside of yourself.”

P.S. It’s all about giving back.
