Pastor recounts tackling man waving gun at church
It was a day church members will never forget.
Ezekiel Ndikumana, a pastor at a Nashville church, says he is “grateful to God” that no one got hurt when a man walked into their Sunday worship service on Nov. 7 and started waving a gun and pointing it at people, according to media reports.
“God wanted to show that he’s a powerful God,” Ndikumana said. “One main thing I said, we had faith.”
Pastor Ndikumana and musician Nzojibugami Noe said it all happened at the point of the service at Nashville Light Mission Pentecostal Church when people who needed prayers were asked to come to the front of the church.
“While I was singing the chorus, I had my eyes closed, and when I had my eyes closed, that’s when I heard the guy standing right there because he got up pretty quickly,” Noe said. “He was waving the gun, waving the gun to the church and everyone else and telling some people to move or get up. Some of them were already down being ready to be prayed for.”
Noe said that’s when his pastor stepped in.
