Pastor Tony Evans says his wife caught ‘a glimpse of heaven’ before she died

A month after his father died, renowned megachurch pastor and author Tony Evans lost his wife of 49 years in December.
Lois Evans, 70, had been battling biliary cancer, a rare disease in the U.S. Tony says that thanks to prayer his wife miraculously overcame several medical expectations and lived longer than expected. In her final days, surrounded by loved ones, Tony says she shared several glimpses of heaven, from seeing her parents to predicting the timing of her passing.
“She heard something, she saw something, as the time of her departure got nearer,” he said.
In a tribute sermon given in her honor at Oak Cliff Fellowship Church in Dallas in early January, Tony shared that it’s not unusual for people to hear and see God or outside the Earth’s realm in divine ways as their time draws near.
“When the time of your departure comes, you want to be close enough to God that you can hear things that other folk can’t hear and see things that other folk can’t hear,” he said.
