Pope Francis was late to mass on Sunday—but he had a good reason

Pope Francis arrived seven minutes late to his noon address in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday. But the pontiff had a good excuse (and a new appreciation for the fire brigade). He was stuck in an elevator for 25 minutes. When he finally made it to mass, he asked the crowd to applaud the firefighters who rescued him.
