She’s ‘Ms. Marvel,’ Muslim teen superhero
Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel, played by newcomer Iman Vellani, is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe this summer, CNN reports.
The new trailer for “Ms. Marvel,” introduces viewers to Khan, a Muslim, Pakistani-American high schooler and Marvel fan girl from New Jersey who doodles and daydreams about one day become a superhero.
Kamala, who was introduced in comics in 2013 before getting her own series the following year, is Marvel’s first Muslim-American superhero.
The series, which debuts June 8, appears to serve as her origin story.
