Washington Nationals Win World Series, star players fueled by faith kept ‘God in front’
It’s been a historic run.
The Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros in Game 7 on Wednesday, becoming World Series champs for the first time.
Along the way, some of the team’s star players openly leaned on prayer and faith.
During the season, a number of photos showed Juan Soto and Victor Robles with either their hands lifted to the sky or on their knees praying before a game.
As the team got closer to the big win, Soto said he told God “we just need His help.”
Following the Game 2 win, Anthony Rendon said that his faith comes first.
“I want to be more Christian than baseball player,” Rendon said.
